For couples booking services in 2010 for weddings taking place this and next year, full wedding coverage begins at $3,100. Coverage for weddings booked in 2011 begins at $3,565.
The day I married my sweetheart, I was up well before the birds to dry and straighten the hair I’d washed a scant 5hrs earlier. My bridesmaids and I had spent the night in the apartment I’d just moved into the week before, and we were all showered, dressed and at our hairdresser’s before 7am.
It was strange, but even those few years ago I found it nearly impossible to find a photographer who was comfortable with the idea of covering my wedding day, how and when [even where] I wanted it. The whole day. From the get-go, right up until the final hurrah!
Sadly, not much has changed. Packages typically limit you to 4, 6, or a generous [tongue planted firmly in cheek] 8hrs of coverage. I consider those pohotographers and studios to be the Zigger’s.
I’m a Zagger.
In all the weddings I’ve been privileged to share, I’ve not captured the magic in anything less than 9 hours, which was a serious anomaly. And THAT day saw me at the Bride’s preparations at 3:20am – Yes, you read correctly; I said AM! Weddings I cover typically take 15 to 18hrs. I’m there from the first preparations, usually around 7am, until your’e waved off – again, usually somewhere around midnight.
While the rest of them zig, I choose to Zag!
And in any case. Your wedding is YOUR wedding. Not mine. Why should I, in any good conscience, expect you to conform to my timetable and schedule? When you commission me to cover your wedding day, I’m there to cover your wedding day.
From the get-go, right up until the final hurrah!
Packages are whatever you wish them to be, and may include any or all of the goodies available on my a la carte priceliest, such as enlargements, couture albums, or perhaps you’d fancy an ipod slideshow. And, if you don’t see what you’re looking for on the ‘menu’, just ask – I’m sure we can work something out.
It’s your day. It’s your package.
