Whenever I meet new people and the inevitable "what do you do for a living" questions pops up, I'm honestly able to tell them:

Oh, I absolutely - without a shadow of a doubt - have the most amazing profession in the world! I get to meet, learn about, fall in love with, and come to cherish some of the most amazing people there are. I'm invited into their lives to help them celebrate their most intimate and momentous occasions. I capture the otherwise fleeting moments, emotions, and stories forever, preserving them for future generations!

I provide services, not products.
I allow myself to become ensnared in the people and events around me. Moments unfold. Emotions - pure joy; primordial fear; nervousness; pride; resignation. I see laughter and tears. Furrowed brows. Mopped brows. Raised brows! Delicate hand embroidery on an heirloom handkerchief. The lipstick kiss remaining on the icon of a Church's patron saint. The furtive glance at a watch as the groom anticipates the arrival of his beloved - (yes, even as she stands waiting while her dress is flounced and she is pronounced the most beautiful woman the world has ever seen). The first kiss. The last hurrah! The beauty in every moment.
